What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles to stimulate the growth factors that improve natural collagen reproduction and skin elasticity. This minimally invasive treatment treats facial scars (acne scars), wrinkles, stretch marks, cellulite, sun spots, and age spots. Microneedling device creates micro-channels in the skin, allowing oxygen and nutrients to penetrate deeper into the skin. This helps to promote cell turnover and stimulates blood flow and collagen production.
How Does Microneedling Therapy Work?
Microneedling works by using tiny needles to puncture the top layer of the skin. They are inserted into the skin at a depth of approximately 50 microns. Once the needle is removed, blood vessels close around the micro-injuries created by the needles. This causes the skin to swell and form new capillaries. As these capillaries grow, they fill in the holes left behind by the needles. This process continues until the skin looks smoother and healthier.
